Football Legends Receiver
Get open, catch, turn upfield — the best first job on a Park court.
Receiver is the correct first job in Football Legends. You do not need Pump Fake. You do not need to win a hike argument. You need to move, jump, dive, and catch. Park courts that look chaotic become simple when one person consistently gets open. Be that person.
If you have not set Autocatch yet, read controls. If you have not played a game, read getting started.
The WR kit
Move before the throw. Standing still is how you become a statue the rusher can ignore. Cut. Create space. Creator tutorials for this game talk about beating press, then catching.
Catch input. Autocatch will grab the easy ones. Manual catch plus jump (A on Xbox tutorials) plus dive (X) covers the rest. The combo you will hear in WR videos is catch, unshift, jump, dive.
Block when you are not the target. Left trigger is block in those same tutorials. Jam a defender so the other WR can eat. 7v7 needs this more than Park, but Park still rewards it.
Turn upfield. A catch that dies at the spot is a wasted first down. After 70 OVR, Truck makes the turn more violent. Before 70, just run.
Routes that work on a public court
You do not have a playbook overlay. You have space.
- Quick out or slant: for QBs who are about to get sacked. Give them a dump-off.
- Go / fade: when the defender sits and your QB can actually throw.
- Sit in the hole: if two rushers came and the middle is empty.
- Do not all three WRs run the same go route. One of you has to be the checkdown.
The quarterback guide is what your thrower should read. If they will not, throw them short looks anyway. You cannot complete a ball that was never thrown, but you can be the person they trust on the next hike.
Park versus 7v7
Park WR is pickup: find the person hiking, get open, stay with that stack if they hit you. 7v7 WR is a named job: release, do not all crowd the same hash, block when it is not your play.
Park has WR leaderboards and global badges. They are a long flex. Tonight’s job is first downs. A 45 OVR WR who catches will get the ball again. A 99 OVR WR who drops will watch the rusher get it.
Settings and cosmetics
Autocatch on until jump and dive are automatic. A readable skin and trail from codes help your QB find you in a pile. Visors and park helmets from summer codes are drip, not stats. Do not buy a bundle to “unlock receiver.” You already are the receiver.
If balls look late, turn the ping meter on. If you are wide open and still uncovered by the throw, the problem is the QB. Leave the court. Park is optional. Your time is not.
Practice plan
- Two Park games, Autocatch on, never stand still.
- One game, Autocatch off, only catch balls you can see.
- One game where you block on plays that are not yours.
- After 70 OVR, add Truck on the turn upfield.
- Then you may try QB for a game. Read quarterback first.
Defense will try to ruin this. That is their job. Read defense so you know when a Hitstick is coming. A WR who jumps into a 50 OVR Hitstick on a 50/50 they did not need to take is how drives end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Park, 7v7, codes, and OVR.
Is receiver good for beginners?
Yes. It is the best first job. Autocatch on, get open, catch, turn upfield. No Pump Fake required.
Why will nobody throw to me?
You are standing still, wearing a default skin in a crowd, or the "QB" is actually fighting for the hike. Move, equip a readable skin, or leave.
Should Autocatch stay on?
Until jump and dive are automatic. Then try a game with it off. Either setting is legal.
When do I Truck as a WR?
After 70 OVR, once you already caught the ball. Truck is a finish, not a route.
